Rookies to watch: Rutgers’ 3rd and final CHOP Elite camp of the summer coincides with Specialists camp

Rutgers football staff hit the shore and beach with 14 official visitors on Friday before visiting New York rookies and their families the next day. The mood was festive and parents danced and played on the beach once everyone warmed up, setting the tone for the weekend and leading to at least two engagements for Greg Schiano on Sunday.

The official visitors have left, but Rutgers staff remain, working to complete Sunday’s work slate. But not before welcoming a few hundred campers to Rutgers’ third and final CHOP Elite camp of the summer, which was scheduled to start at 2 p.m. The camp will coincide with the Rutgers specialty camp taking place at the same time.

Here are some Sunday campers to watch out for:

Two quarterbacks to watch are malik washingtona freshman from Archbishop Spalding (Severn, Md.) with a Virginia Tech offer, and Penn Hills’ (Pa.) Julien Dagger, a sophomore with an offer from Pitt. They will compete against each other and other Rutgers campers for deals at the Rutgers training grounds on Sunday.

Also, Roman Catholic (Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) four-star WR Denmarkwho has 31 offers including Alabama, could also show up, but isn’t certain.
