ABU DHABI, October 25, 2021 (WAM) – Leading industry players in the MICE sector will gather at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center (ADNEC) this month for the inaugural event of the MICE Trade Events Week. ‘Abu Dhabi (ADBEW), which will take place October 25-27, 2021.
ADBEW’s agenda will be filled with plenary sessions, consultative summits, educational sessions, regional and global live panels, training workshops and social media. Industry experts will guide attendees through three days of industry information and open forums, developing strategic approaches for a stronger and sustainable future in the region.
Developed by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi), ADBEW will cement the region’s already strong support for the MICE tourism sector and galvanize businesses after the pandemic.
The industry-led platform will see industry knowledge and expertise shared, in partnership with the main international partners of the MICE association, such as the International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA), the Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA), the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry (UFI), the International Association of Exhibitions and Events (IAEE), the Society for Incentive Travel Excellence (SITE) and the Meeting Professionals International (MPI).

Starting with an opening session of the ICCA Congress, focusing on regional perspectives from the tourism and MICE sectors, each day will include sessions facilitated by ADBEW partners. This will allow local and regional event professionals to align with international standards, be up to date with the latest industry developments and be aware of best business practices.
Notable educational sessions will include “The Future of Work” by Anu Madgavkar of the McKinsey Global Institute; “Organizational Culture” by Carrie Freeman Parsons, Chairman of the Board, Freeman Company; “Impact of Technology” by Gerd De Bruycker, EMEA Marketing Director at CISCO; and “Innovation, Agility and Collaboration” by Josh Linkner, keynote speaker on innovation and bestselling author. Global MICE Collaborative (IAEE / SITE / MPI) will provide industry insight on attendees and exhibitors’ thoughts on the return of trade shows and the difference before and after the pandemic, while PCMA will facilitate in-person consultative summits. Meanwhile, UFI will discuss environmental sustainability in the exhibition sector, with IAEE MENA highlighting its women’s leadership initiative.
