The Center for Experiential Learning (CEL) would like to invite applications from dynamic and collaborative individuals for this exciting role in educating young Singaporeans to become professionally competent and contributing citizens, ready for employment and able to do responsible and ethical career choices and decisions.

You will support the Career Development Office in engaging SUSS stakeholders, locally and abroad, to strengthen university-industry relationships and identify work/internship and employment opportunities for students of the SUSS. You will also play a role in the assessment and development of SUSS students, providing mentorship and guidance in their acquisition of professional skills and career choices.

We need someone who has a good knowledge of the industry (preferably in the IT-related industry), with a strong coaching background, who is familiar with current and emerging practices in capital development human and committed to preparing and capitalizing young undergraduate students.

  • Provide career coaching and career advice to students throughout their studies at SUSS
  • Conduct mentoring and assessment activities for students during the 6-month local/overseas work program in different disciplines
  • Design and deliver workshops and programs that help students develop professional skills
  • Design and teach career-related credit courses that leverage experiential learning pedagogy to enhance the theory-practice connection
  • Initiate and develop long-term partnerships with local and foreign companies to create learning, applied research and work opportunities for students
  • Initiate and direct applied research to enhance the expertise of the Career Development Office
  • Undertake administrative work to support student programming and learning

Job requirements

We are looking for senior industry executives. They must have the required professional experience, network and industry knowledge.

In particular, candidates must have/be:

  • A good university degree, preferably with a postgraduate degree and/or professional qualification
  • Minimum of 10 years of professional experience (preferably in the IT industry), of which at least 5 years in a supervisory role
  • Experience and/or certification in career coaching
  • Strong understanding of global and local hiring/employment trends and methods
  • Passion for working with students and able to build relationships, motivate and inspire young people
  • Meticulous and able to work in a fast-paced environment, work in a highly diverse and cross-functional team, and manage multiple tasks including administrative processes
  • Ability to travel internationally (estimated once every 3-6 months)
  • A strong network abroad will be an advantage
  • Certification in personality profiling tools will be an advantage
