MUSEUM HOSTS WORKSHOP: The Youngstown Historic Center of Industry and Labor will be hosting a free workshop on the Grant Writing and Funding Toolkit for Small Organizations at 1 p.m. Saturday.
Meghan Reed, director of the Trumbull County Historical Society, in attendance. The center at 151 W. Wood St., adjacent to Youngstown State University, runs workshops to provide small museums and historical organizations with insight into field practices.

SBA ANNOUNCES CALL FOR ENTRIES: Nominations are accepted for the 2022 National Small Business Week Awards. The awards recognize the accomplishments of SBA-assisted small businesses and the contributions they have made to their communities and society. economy of our country.

EVENT IN WILLIAMSON: The Williamson College of Business Administration will host the Youngstown State University Accounting and Auditing Update from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on December 10. This year’s update will be held on campus and online. Registrations are from 8 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.
The update is AICPA approved for eight hours of CPE training for Ohio and Pennsylvania. The registration fee is $ 225 and registration is done online at ysu.edu/accountingseminars.
The course covers relevant statements, exposure drafts and other recently released guidance in the areas of accounting, auditing, reviewing and compilation. Information on auditing, accounting concepts, trends and decisions affecting the public and private sectors will also be covered.

COMPANY TAKES A STEP: American Business Center Inc., a provider of office equipment and solutions to businesses in Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia, celebrated its 40th anniversary in October.
To celebrate, the locally owned and operated Youngstown company hosted a ribbon cutting at its 7677 South Ave location. October 21, the anniversary date.
AMARII EXTENDS CALL FOR PROJECTS: AMARII, the Innovation Institute for Advanced Manufacturing and Applied Research, extends the call for open projects for advanced manufacturing projects which, if funded, would have a positive impact on the economy of northeast Ohio. The new deadline is December 22.
Project ideas can encompass manufacturing, machining, process improvement, automation, supply chain improvement, energy and energy efficiency, technology improvement, reduction of costs, etc.
Priority will be given to ideas that demonstrate the ability to advance manufacturing technologies, promote growth and job retention, and enhance the economic competitiveness of Mahoning Valley businesses.
AMARII was created to advance manufacturing technologies in Northeast Ohio. It is a wholly owned subsidiary of the National Center for Defense Manufacturing and Machining, the parent organization of America Makes in downtown Youngstown.
Projects will be assessed to determine whether AMARII can identify potential funding sources such as the Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Energy, Office of Economic Adjustment, as well as state, regional and local funding.

FIRST BANK TO A MANAGER: Premier Bank recently added Alicia Miller to the position of Vice President, responsible for communications and marketing.
Miller, who brings with her nearly 20 years of marketing experience in the financial industry, most recently served as vice president, director of marketing strategy and planning for a regional bank headquartered in Detroit, where she managed a line of business marketing activities.
In his new role, Miller will be responsible for managing corporate communications as well as the wealth marketing and business segments.
RECOVERY BOARD ADDS STAFF: Mahoning County Mental Health and Recovery Board is expanding its team with the addition of four new employees: Valerie Burney, Lee DeVita, Tracey Moracco and Michelle Werth.
Werth is the new clinical specialist; DeVita joins as program coordinator; Burney Joins New Role as Community Engagement and Outreach Coordinator; and Moracco as administrative assistant and trainer in prevention.
