• The La Jolla Theater Ensemble presents a staged reading of “Frankenstein” at 6:15 p.m. on Monday, November 1 at La Jolla / Riford Library, 7555 Draper Ave. The adaptation of Mary Shelley’s novel stars Ana da Costa, Ashley Engelman, Phillip Magin, Austyn Myers, Tom Steward and John Tessmer. • Warwick’s bookstore presents the author Alison gaylin at 5 p.m., Tuesday, November 2, online. Gaylin will discuss his new novel, “The Collective,” with author Laura Lippman. To free.
