2021 ITS-NY 28th Annual Meeting and Tech Expo

Congratulations to Joseph Chow, Board Member of ITS-NY, who received the title of Associate Professor of the Institute in recognition of his significant achievements in research, teaching and service to the Institute. New York University!

Dr. Joseph Chow is a faculty member in the Department of Civil and Urban Engineering and Deputy Director of C2SMART, a Level 1 college transportation hub at NYU. He also heads the NYU Urban Behavioral Computing, Logistics and Transportation Lab. His research is focused on the transport systems and smart cities of the future, and his recent projects include formulating guidelines for planning on-demand transport services, platform economic methods for designing electric mobility systems. shared and the development of a multi-agent simulation test bed to assess emerging transport technologies and policies such as congestion pricing and transit operations in the context of COVID-19. Its contributions can be felt by all travelers to New York and beyond. Additionally, Professor Chow is a dedicated teacher known to be very popular with his students.

Application of the NIST framework to transport systems

Course details:

This course is designed for national and local road agencies and private sector companies that support the planning and implementation of intelligent transport systems (ITS) projects with an understanding of the fundamentals of cybersecurity. The objective of this course is to provide transport professionals with the necessary foundations to launch cyber initiatives or improve existing programs within their transport organization.

Participants will learn the basics of applying the NIST Cyber ​​Security Framework to their organization in the form of a case study. As part of the training series, they will learn about the contributions of the NIST Cybersecurity Framework and the impact of cyber threats on an agency’s infrastructure and operations. The NIST framework is presented as a set of standards, guidelines and best practices that participants can apply to their own case study considerations. Adapting to COVID-19: A Paradigm Shift in Transportation

The ITE Met section holds its annual meeting on Thursday, November 12, 2020 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.. This will be a joint meeting with ITS-NY on the theme “Adapting to COVID-19: a paradigm shift in transport”

The ITS-NY Board of Directors would like to congratulate the NYU-ITE Tandon Student Chapter as the recipient of the “Student Chapter Achievement Award” and the inaugural “Student Chapter Momentum Award”. Both awards were presented at the ITE’s annual meeting and exhibition in recognition of the outstanding improvement and service provided by the student section to its members over the past year. We understand that NYU was selected from a pool of over 150 highly competitive student sections around the world.
